Dear colleagues

I am very honoured to take the position as your new Chairperson for the Society and am very grateful to have such a competent and diverse team on the committee. Together we plan to enhance the communication with members and raise the profile of the excellent work of society members. I would like to thank the outgoing officers who delivered a really excellent and well subscribed meeting at BAS in September and we are planning to publish the proceedings in due course.

The new committee is now making further developments of the website, which will hopefully improve connections with researchers, facilitate more efficient operation of the Society and raise SLTB profile. We are also planning a regular Society newsletter, which we hope you will feedback on to help us to make ongoing improvements. We have a programme of international scientific meetings in the Czech Republic (2018) and Madrid (2019) which I am sure will further expand the scientific quality and profile of SLTB events.

I am personally focused on promoting the SLTB as a first point of call for expert information and opinion based on the diversity and expertise of its membership and I look forward to welcoming you next year in the Czech Republic.
