A picture is worth 1000 words…

Welcome to the SLTB inaugural photo competition!

SLTB is running a new image competition and needs your pictures. Images can be anything low temperature biology related, from cryopreserved cells to icicles on your rooftop, plant meristems to arctic foxes at play. All entries will be displayed at the annual scientific meeting where attendees will cast votes to decide the winner.

SLTB and Planer Ltd sponsored prizes are available:

First prize: £50

Second Prize: £30

Third Prize: £20

So get your entries in now! Send photos either scanned or in .jpg, .tif or .bmp formats at as high resolution as you can, to the SLTB email address!

All photos entered will be featured on the SLTB website and displayed at the annual meeting, so please make sure you have ownership rights for any pictures entered and credit the photographer, and both are happy for them to appear on the SLTB website, SLTB Facebook page and on the SLTB Twitter feed. Photos can be previously published and SLTB requires only permission to display them and will not retain any ownership rights from the photographer or submitting entrant.

Images up to the size of 10MB can be uploaded using the form at the bottom of this page if emailing is not possible.

Rules: Multiple entries are allowed but only the most highly voted entry will be counted for each individual entrant. Votes will be taken at the SLTB2019 conference in Seville. Voting will be anonymous with numbered photos displayed without labels, votes posted anonymously. Each attendee should vote for only 1 photograph as their winner. Votes will be counted and the highest votes for an individual photo will be taken as that entrants high score, with awards presented to the three entrants with highest votes. Where an entrant has submitted more than one photo, their final entry will be the highest scoring photo of all their submissions. Winners will be notified by email and announced at the meeting. Prizes will be awarded by paypal or cheque after the meeting is over by arrangement with the winner. All photos will appear on the SLTB website following the competition winner announcement.
